Recommendations and statements

Discussions that take place during Leopoldina events provide, whenever possible, a basis for science-based recommendations and statements which are addressed to political institutions and the interested general public. To achieve this goal, the Presidium follows up selected events by appointing ad-hoc commissions or expert groups whose deliberations are subjected to an independent review process and then published as Leopoldina statements and recommendations.

In the last years Leopoldina participated in authoring several international recommendations and statements: 

• Statements of the InterAcademy Panel (IAP)
  
  
• Recommendations by the national academies of the G8 countries
  
  
• Recommendations of the European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC)
  
  
• National recommendations
